Thanks to its high-density composition and in-built resistance to the freeze-thaw cycle, cobbles offer incredible durability against splitting, cracking, chipping, and general wear and tear. In fact, the typical cobblestone lifespan extends from 25 to 50 years.
And whether used by pedestrians or vehicles, cobblestone pavers require very little maintenance. It does not carry the typical risks and costly woes as with the upkeep of asphalt and in-situ concrete.
The cobblestone installation process ensures that weed growth is limited, whilst a waterproof sealant is used to curb mold and mildew. Furthermore, cobbles are highly stain-resistant, which means that stains (such as from oil and tyre marks) can be easily removed with basic cleaning.
