Advantages of Precast Concrete
- Prestressed for Extreme Durability. Through compression and tension, prestressing combines the strongest qualities of concrete and steel. The result is extreme crack resistance, added corrosion protection, longer span lengths, and significantly reduced maintenance demands than in-situ and reinforced alternatives. Prestressing makes precast ideal for heavy impact and working loads, such as in culvert and bollard
- Agile Installation. Site preparation for precast units is minimal, requiring only excavation and backfilling. Freestanding and modular units, such as T Walls, include cast-in sockets for easy movement without demands on surplus labour or dedicated equipment. Likewise, groundworkers can install precast without extensive experience or specialist training.
- The Sustainable Choice. Manufacturing under factory controls means reduced air and noise pollution, as well as improved environmental safety from less debris, cement, and chemical admixtures required on site. The controlled environment also leads to improved quality, thus preventing material wastage from poor sequencing or inconsistency conditions.
